There are many different beliefs why we smudge. Cultures all around the world carry many of the same understandings of what the smoke actually does. Depending on what intentions and ceremonies are administered along with what herb or combination of herbs that are burnt, can have a variety of energetic effects with the physical self as well as the spiritual self.
Not only can these herbs have a cleansing effect, they also can, paired along with the correct intentions; have the ability to assist with connection and manifestation.
This is the part of the ceremony that most people have troubles with. It takes many years of practice to be able to learn to:
